The Auchentoshan distillery was built in the year 1800 by a man named John Bulloch. He named the distillery Duntocher distillery. His son continued the business and registered the Auchentoshan distillery in 1823 after the Duntocher distillery went bankrupt in 1822. From this point on the Auchentoshan distillery was a legitimate distillery in the United Kingdom. Hence, the official date when Auchentoshan was founded is 1823. All the preceding production cannot be officially confirmed.

The Auchentoshan distillery lies in the Scottish Lowlands at the shores of the River Clyde. It is one of the few Scottish distilleries that triple distils every last drop of this spectacular Scotch then matured for over eighteen years. You will very rarely get an Auchentoshan whisky that is sharp and edgy because the triple distillation removes the last bit of fusel oils and other unwanted aromas from the whisky. The triple distillation process also creates a higher-proof final distillate which is lighter and sweeter in flavour than most Scotch.

Auchentoshan 18 Years is a triple-distilled Lowland single malt scotch whisky that is matured exclusively in ex-bourbon casks. An amazing single malt scotch whisky that is bottled at 43% ABV. This distillery is now owned by the Suntory Brand.

TO THE EYE
Deep Golden Summer Barley. The new and complex colour is created over time from the long maturing process of 18 years in the barrel
TO THE NOSE
Fresh tobacco leaf, then some sweetness, layered with a hint of caramelised sugar, green tea and almonds
TO THE TONGUE
A smooth whisky taste with a floral freshness and a burst of sweet barley at first. This gently ebbs, revealing a tangy zestness of Auchentoshan whisky. The palate is left alive and refreshed
TO THE END
A long, lingering well balanced Single Malt. A dram that invigorates the senses
